Media
In process engineering, the terminology “media” refers to all substances that are transported, processed, mixed, temperature-controlled or contained within plant, vessels or pipework. These include, amongst others, gases, vapours, liquids, solid-liquid mixtures and two-phase flows. The properties of a medium, such as viscosity, density, temperature, pressure, chemical resistance or tendency to cake, are decisive for the technical design and selection of suitable components and safety devices.
